A Burning Issue As Light As Smoke

.

DEFINITELY WORTH READING

In her "Best Non-Fiction" blog, Jodi Bullock writes about the (cons and) pros of smoking.

She introduces us responsibly to this crazy sport of smoking, as any decent person aware of the risks entailed by it might want to do when writing for the general public. But she does so in style. Using a variety of nuances in her choice of vocabulary when it comes to expressing her personal opinion about whether one should or shouldn't smoke, she introduces the subject in a way that shouldn't frighten away anti-smokers, before discreetly moving into her obviously cherished territory of Smokophilia.

Her tone is light, casual, straightforward and self-assured, her thoughts are clear and often humorous and although her point of view is personal (and based on personal experience), it is respectful of non- and anti-smokers alike.

Overall, a witty approach, free of pretentiousness, a (seemingly at least) honest account of personal experiences and behaviour, with great awareness on the issue and, towards the end,
a stimulating approach to Death, the often-feared friend of smoking, that so many people think they know so much about.
